A couple of pre-house 1980's gems re-edited by Sportello......

First up Madrid Highway is as much as a 1980s pre house KU anthem as you will ever hear this rock, funk disco cosmic gem recorded by a Franco era Spanish band comes with an anthemic chorus celebrating ‘being on the road again’ and is often forgotten. Here Sportello digs out his Roland Space Echo and era appropriate poly synths for a great update which plays on the originals Balearic beat.

Second up ‘In Your Eyes’ moves to mid 1980’s New York and a release on the legendary SAM Records. Often classed as ‘boogie-funk’ a genre that is as confusing as it is overused the bassline in this track shows just how skilled the producers were. Here Sportello wisely does little more than rearrange the parts and adds in an extended percussion break to freshen it up for 2021.
